What is it?

The ICOM-US Community Forum is a safe place where all ICOM-US Members can come together to discuss and share ideas on the new museum definition initiative

ICOM-US members only.

Right here! Be sure you are logged into your member profile to join the conversation.

What should I do the first time I log into the forum?

Read the first post! "ICOM-US Forum Guidelines and Rules" 

How can I complete my profile?

On the Forum home page, click on "Forum Profile". You have the ability to add your location, a signature and see your karma points. *Karma points are your vote up and vote down stats on the blog. 

What if the current topic isn't of interest to me?

Did a new topic get posted, but you don't want to follow the discussion around it? That's okay! For each new topic posted, you may unsubscribe. Simply click into the email from ICOM-US that has alerted you to a new topic. Click "My Posts" and then "My Subscribes".

What if I don't want to subscribe to any of the topics?

If you wish to not receive the emails around any of the community forum discussions, please follow the steps below to remove yourself from these emails only 

  1. Login to your profile.
  2. Once logged in, click "My Profile" (this is under the name tag image).
  3. Toggle over "My Profile," and click "Contact Preferences".
  4. Here you will see the list of emails you are currently subscribed to. Feel free to update them to suit your needs and interest.

Why come back everyday?

We encourage you to log in to connect with your museum colleagues from around the country everyday. This way we can have a safe place for you to discuss your ideas, opinions and concerns on the new museum definition. We want to learn from one another!
