Institutional Members
Institutional memberships provide a broad range of benefits, including but not limited to:
- Some 250 ICOM training and other activities organized yearly in the U.S. and around the world.
- ICOM membership cards to distribute to your staff for free admission to museums worldwide. Institutions receive a certain amount of ICOM cards depending on their membership level (min: 3 to max: 8 cards).
- The acceptance of the card is at the discretion of individual venues, museums, and institutions. Please contact the venue before you travel to check whether they accept the card. [Please note: According to the ICOM statutes, there is no specific obligation for institutional members apart from accepting and adhering to the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums. However, as a gesture of solidarity, museums offer free admission to ICOM members (those with the card and annual sticker)].
- Allow up to 3 employees from the institution to join as representatives and be voting members in International Committees.
- Use the institutional membership number to attend webinars, conferences, workshops, free entry to exhibitions, etc.
- Access to a variety of timely resources and unlimited opportunities for collaboration.
- Advocacy for museums and cultural heritage.
Membership is annual and runs from January 1st to December 31st of every year in which dues are paid. New memberships received after September 30th will become effective as of January 1st of the following year unless otherwise indicated.
