Institutional Members
Institutional memberships provide a broad range of benefits, including, but not limited to:
- Access to some 250 ICOM training and other activities organized yearly in the U.S. and around the world.
- ICOM membership cards to distribute to your staff for free admission to museums worldwide (quantity dependent upon membership category).
- Opportunities for up to three employees to join as representatives and be voiting members in International Committees.
- Ability to use the institutional membership number to attend webinars, conferences, workshops, free entry to exhibitions, etc.
- Access to a variety of timely resources and unlimited opportunities for collaboration.
- Advocacy for museums and cultural heritage.

Membership Year
Membership is annual and runs from January 1 to December 31 of every year in which dues are paid. New memberships received after September 30 will become effective as of January 1 of the following year unless otherwise indicated.
When will I receive my member card and sticker? The ICOM-US membership application process typically takes 6–8 weeks from the time you apply to when you receive your membership card and sticker.

Please note: According to the ICOM Statutes, there is no specific obligation for institutional members apart from accepting and adhering to the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums. However, as a gesture of solidarity, museums typically offer free admission to ICOM members (those with the card and annual sticker).
